Bad Wolf has finished principal photography on the three-part Christmas special of The Other Bennet Sister, which will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The production recently wrapped in Wales, marking the continuation of the period drama following the initial ten-episode run. Ella Bruccoleri reprises her role as Mary Bennet, joined by Dónal Finn as her husband Tom Hayward. The narrative picks up directly after the tenth episode, where Mary agreed to marry Tom, exploring the transition of her identity within the constraints of Regency society.

The returning cast includes Ruth Jones as Mrs Bennet, Tanya Reynolds as Caroline Bingley, and Laurie Davidson as Mr Ryder. Additional returning actors are Varada Sethu, Poppy Gilbert, Maddie Close, Grace Hogg-Robinson, Molly Wright, and Anna Fenton-Garvey. Nerys Amber Stocks joins the ensemble to portray Mary's housemaid, Lucy. Sarah Quintrell, who wrote nine of the original series episodes, has scripted all three new episodes based on storylines by author Janice Hadlow. Asim Abbasi returns to direct the special.

The commission was secured by Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and by Jon Farrar, Chief Content Officer for Direct to Consumer at BBC Studios, for BritBox in North America. Sony Pictures Television handles international distribution. The original series recorded 6.5 million viewers in its first 28 days across UK platforms, establishing itself as the highest-rated new drama since March 2025.

The first episode has since accumulated 8.4 million total viewers, with 7.3 million watching within the 28-day window. The franchise generated 250 million views across BBC social media accounts on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Bad Wolf executive producers include Kate Crowther, Becca Kinder, and Jane Tranter, while Rebecca Ferguson serves as the BBC executive producer. The special is developed under the oversight of Bad Wolf Managing Director Dan McCulloch and Chief Creative Officer Ryan Rasmussen.
